Smart phone connectivity

Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity¹ puts the world of your phone on XV’s big, easy to use touchscreen. It can read your text messages out loud and even play your favourite music to sing along to. Cleverly, you can also bounce your smartphone’s mapping system to the XV's big screen whenever you like, helping you keep your eyes on the road and get you to your destination easily. And with the addition of digital radio (DAB+)² a whole world of entertainment awaits.

The Subaru XV is equipped with a 8" colour LCD screen you can touch, swipe and pinch, just like your smartphone. Putting everything you need, your contacts, phone controls, maps, music, messages and useful vehicle analytical information, right there at your fingertips. Plus on your steering wheel there’s buttons to activate voice-control, make phone calls, turn on music and more – all without taking your eyes off the road and hands off the wheel.

EyeSight® Driver Assist

Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist is world-class and category-leading safety technology. With dual colour forward facing cameras intelligently and discreetly placed on your windscreen, EyeSight® scans the road ahead for unanticipated dangers. It’s like having a second pair of eyes looking out for you. This advanced system provides extra awareness, safety, and added peace of mind every time you drive.

EyeSight® is designed to actively help drivers in avoiding frontal collisions, lane drifting and low speed impacts. It can ‘lock on’ to vehicles directly in front and, when used together with Adaptive Cruise Control, can slow, stop and accelerate to maintain a safe driving distance.

Smart satellite navigation

XV’s satellite navigation system¹ is brilliant. Just hit voice command and say where you need to be and you’ll be guided to your destination with live updates on faster routes and traffic hazards. Or if you prefer, you can use your smartphone’s mapping system via Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity2. The choice is yours.

Australian roads have never been busier, the weather is becoming more unpredictable and driver distraction is increasing. That’s why safety is more important than ever.

Under the skin of every Subaru XV is hidden engineering brilliance. With a ring-shaped steel safety cell that’s designed to absorb and direct the impact of the force around the cabin, rather than through it. Plus every XV comes equipped with the superior traction and control of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and 7, yes 7, SRS* airbags - dual front, dual front side, dual curtain and knee airbag for driver. Little wonder a Subaru XV achieves a 5 star ANCAP* safety rating.

EyeSight® Driver Assist

With cutting-edge EyeSight® Driver Assist technology, it’s reassuring to know your Subaru XV is always watching out for you. Here's a few ways you're safer with XV:

When the car in front of you moves at a green light, Lead Vehicle Start Alert lets you know when it’s time to go – so the driver behind you doesn't have to. 

Pre-Collision Braking System delivers automatic braking to help avoid or reduce the severity of detected frontal accident impacts.

If the XV’s EyeSight® Driver Assist technology senses any lane sway or lane departure and will give you an audible warning.

Adaptive Cruise Control tracks the vehicle in front of you, keeping a safe distance to take the stress off.

Eliminate blind spots

Many accidents happen because a driver simply cannot see another. Subaru’s Vision Assist is designed to eliminate blinds spots with cameras and sensors placed to give a driver unprecedented awareness of what’s around them.

If a vehicle is in your blind spot, a light symbol on your side mirror lights up – on either side of the car – to let you know. Or, if you’re changing lanes and a fast approaching vehicle is behind you, a light symbol will warn you of its presence. If you’re reversing and the system detects that vehicles are approaching from the side, Subaru's Vision Assist Rear Cross Traffic Alert will alert you audibly that there is risk of a collision.

Featuring a range of stability and braking technologies, the VDC system steps in to help maintain your safety in extreme situations. Constantly analysing through an array of sensors, VDC includes:

Electronic Stability Control: Helps you gain control if you unexpectedly understeer or oversteer, by applying brakes, reducing engine power and distributing torque.

Traction Control System: Helps you minimise your wheel slip by reducing engine power.

Anti-lock Braking System: Helps you stay in control by minimising stopping distance and maintaining vehicle control under brakes.

Electronic Brakeforce Distribution: Helps keep you safe by controlling the braking pressure to the front and rear wheels all the time.
